Gosh, A Toddler Age 2 Years Arrested For Allegedly Involved Theft Case

Police in the state of Uttar Pradesh, northern India, has caused outrage in the community, after the police decided to arrest a toddler on charges of theft.

As reported by BBC, Thursday, October 1, Ravi 2 years old, his father had to be escorted and handed over to the court after the police were going to come to their home to arrest Ravi.

"Ravi is in the list of the accused police along with three adults, one of whom is the family of the child," the BBC reported.

But after the arrest attempt caused outrage in the area, senior police officials had to intervene and decide Ravi name removed from the list.

Police in a statement said that a theft case reported in the village of Bajehra, Sitapur, 20 September 2015 ago.

On the basis of a complaint by the victim and the other villagers, police enlisted four suspects, including Ravi, Press Trust of India reported, cited by BBC.

The four were charged with violation of theft, trespassing at night, and dishonestly receiving stolen property.

Three adult suspects had already been arrested and imprisoned. But when police tried to arrest Ravi, who was worried his father drove the children to the court, with the help of some lawyers, he approached a senior police officer and tells him of the incident.

The police officer then ordered the police to revoke Ravi name from the list.

Under Indian law, police can not file a criminal case against a child under the age of seven years
